This spring on March 9 2007, the Daily Mail Ideal Home Show sponsored by npower will bring together the very latest in home design, must-have products and accessories, exciting innovation and expert advice from the UK’s interior design world, running for 24 days and it’s all under one roof.
Plus you can be inspired further at the show as this year’s impressive central feature is a whole town! Designed by Young Architects of the Year, Lynch Architects Ltd, Sustainable Living – A Return to Community is a truly innovative and impressive feature. It includes three environmentally-friendly house designs as well a town square, green spaces and even a pub. It will showcase the very latest in contemporary thinking about housing, fusing sustainable modern designs with traditional building and is a definite ‘must see’. Marks & Spencer, Allied Carpets, Stewart Milne and Jeld Wen are all official sponsors and feature within the exclusive central feature.
Other brand new features at this year’s Daily Mail Ideal Home Show include the new Advice Centres which will offer advice on a wide range of topics from property, gardening and renovations to interiors, and the exciting Home of the Future that offers the latest in home technology.
Spring 2007 sees the very first National Interiors Week, the Daily Mail Ideal Home Show will recognise the best of Interior Design, with a week long interiors extravaganza culminating with a glitzy award ceremony. Firm favourites will also return, like the renowned cooking and DIY theatres featuring the famous faces of our show celebrities. Hundreds of exhibitors will be offering their specialist knowledge and products, a huge selection covering every aspect of the home from furniture, food & drink, DIY and gardening to interiors, gifts and accessories.

- Sustainable Living – A Return to Community – BRAND NEW THIS YEAR
The design fuses contemporary innovations in construction with traditional building to form a realistic vision of new places to live and work. A terrace house, a courtyard house and a modern country house will represent urban, suburban and rural living to show how green materials combined with a sustainable approach to development can make homes people want to live in. Four talks will be held each week by leading architects and critics, discussing current architectural trends and offering their expert advice to visitors.- Advice Centres – BRAND NEW THIS YEAR
There will be three Advice Centres at the Daily Mail Ideal Home Show this year offering free one-to-one advice and interaction with leading experts on a range of subjects; from interior and garden design, to planning permission and info packs. Visitors can simply drop in with an enquiry as there is no need to make an appointment.- At Home with Madame Tussauds – BRAND NEW THIS YEAR
An exciting new feature showcasing a series of celebrity waxworks for visitors to view and have their photographs taken with the gorgeous George Clooney in the dining room and Alan Titchmarsh in his garden amongst other A-listers.- ‘The Connected Home’– BRAND NEW THIS YEAR
The Connected Home will offer visitors the chance to experience the hottest home technologies and digital enhancements on the market. The feature will be an ultra modern house of the future with experts on hand to answer any home technological queries.- Exclusive French Market – BRAND NEW THIS YEAR
Beginning on Opening Day, the first weekend and thereafter every Thursday to Sunday, a genuine French market complete with French speaking market sellers offering authentic French products and delicious food will be at the show. Translators will also be provided to help with the bartering!CLASSIC SHOW HIGHLIGHTS:
- Concept Products Awards – This popular feature, now its seventh year will also return, giving visitors an insight into the future of furniture and gadgets designed by a generation of Britain’s most talented, young design graduates. Visitors can see for themselves each individual design plus vote for their favourite. The winning invention will be announced at an awards ceremony during the show.
- Junior Concept Products also makes a great comeback. The Daily Mail Ideal Home Show has teamed up with schools throughout the UK asking budding young designers aged 8-11 to get creative and design an innovative product for the home, with winning entries being displayed at the show.
- 2020 Living – BRAND NEW THIS YEAR
The Daily Mail Ideal Home Show has invited students from the top six universities throughout the UK to design domestic products and furniture of the future. How will we be living in 10-20 years time? What are the sorts of products that will help shape and change our living environment? To find out be sure to visit this exclusive new feature.- DIY Theatre – take your pick from a series of masterclasses with a host of celebrity demonstrators offering top tips on anything and everything to do with home design, gardening and interiors.
- Sizzling Kitchen – celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott will be on hand cooking up an array of sumptuous culinary delights for all foodie lovers and budding masterchefs out there. Plus find out how you can be a Domestic Goddess as ‘I’m a Celebrity’ star Nancy Sorrell will be at the show in both theatres learning how to hone her skills on everything from cooking the perfect meal and improving her DIY!
- Garden Showcase – be inspired with our series of unique garden designs showcasing different ways to utilise and maximise your outdoor space. Also find out how you can add innovation and style to your garden with expert advice from ITV1’s This Morning gardener David Domoney.
