That was a friends response when I voiced concerns at the level of immigration occurring a few years ago, at the time I said its going to lead to a underclass of people doing menial jobs pretty much like the mexicans working in america. I then pointed out he was quoting Charlie Chaplin.

Another friends view (old school middle class) said it would lead to reduction in wages for the unskilled.

Its documented now, that it was Labours intentional policy to rub the rights nose in it by increasing immigration! at the same time the loonies were betraying the working class.

When you get people at ease and talking the level of immigration infuriates them ! but this is tempered with a fear of being called a racist.

I'm a racist if the definition is that you don't like how the country you were born in is been changed by the influx of foreign nationals.
In fact the fear of been called a racist makes me want to say I'm a racist
just to wind people up ! but thats the devilment in me.

I just amazed how many people when you walk past them are talking a foreign language, utterly amazed.

I think a lot of people missed just how many votes in total the BNP got at the last election, if the politicians don't a grip of the situation I dont think it bodes well for the future.

A mate of mine in a basket ball team was approached by one of the other playes and he said "Have you noticed whats happening ?"
turns out the four poles on the team would never pass to one of the black players.........ever.

Yeah they do that a lot in Wales.

Not enough votes to make any difference what-so-ever in Government.

Then their manager is completely useless and would be sacked. I'm struggling to believe that story. What manager worth his/her salt is going to run a team where a quarter of the team don't pass to other members of the team? It just wouldn't happen. Well, it 'might' happen but any manager with an ounce of common sense would either stamp it out or sack the player/s refusing to pass to certain players. IF the story is true then it just shows what a tiny, segregated, cut-off, moronic mind those idiots have.

This country has always been one of movement of people and/or colonisation from Celtic and Pict tribes to Romans to Africans. Its gone on for centuries. What is an indigenous person of the UK? Technically it could be argued the Welsh and Cornish are the most indigenous. But then there's the Pict and Celtic tribes mentioned above. Then you could look to descendants of the Angles, the Saxons, the French... we are ALL indeed citizens of the world.

EDIT: This is a nice potted history. http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/static/in_depth/uk/2002/race/short_history_of_immigration.stm

Why does this daft argument about ancient history always come up? We are talking living memory - s*d what happened a thousand years ago.

Yes lets deny anything that dispels the argument that immigration is a new thing.

Have a look at the BBC link above Joe (here it is again for you). It outlines the history of immigration (to the UK), from years 250 to 2002... that certainly includes 'living memory'. It ends by saying:
Fifty years after the start of mass immigration to the UK, questions are still being asked about whether or not the UK can become a multi-ethnic society at ease with itself - or whether there is still a long road to be travelled.
Of course, the questions, debate, conversations etc surrounding UK immigration have been going on a LOT longer than the last 50 years.

Let me point out, I'm not saying that immigration isn't causing the UK problems. I'd certainly stand with those that say it is, from jobs to housing. But the argument is constantly overrun with idiots who have the mentality of a caveman. Immigration has ALWAYS gone on in this country and will continue to go on. As I say, I agree that it is becoming a problem but lets discuss the problem not who one bloke is willing to pass a ball to or not!

Just 60 years ago we were shooting Germans. How many have you shot this week? Your argument is irrelevant. We are a tiny county with a massive population. We are the 6th most densely populated country in the world - and you want more? FFS why?

Eh? Where did I say I want more? Did you read my last post Joe? I said I believe immigration IS causing the UK a problem. What I don't want is the discussion being dragged off into petty arguments such as, "Oh yeah it is a problem coz I know someone, who knows someone who knows this bloke who knows a bloke that plays football and he said that some of his team mates won't pass the ball to some of the other team!". I mean come on! Let's get back to the issue... immigration.

Even the house of lords says immigration benefits no-one apart from the immigrant.

So let's scrap the H of L then. I seem to recall you are all in favour of it.

Stop being a hypocrite, man.

You prefer anarchy then? Stop talking bolex.
