Hi guys,

Just joined this forum, I need some advice.

I currently have a Washing Machine installed, its connected to the cold feed and the waste as shown in the photos.

My dishwasher is coming next week, a dishwasher has never been installed in this property. It's going in the place of an under counter fridge so mains/electric is there.

I'm wanting to give it a go!

All the pictures show how it is all connected currently, picture 3 is the pipe just under the belfast sink with a shelf between the cupboard.
Picture 2 shows the cold feed which is currently connected to the washing machine.

My dishwasher won't be on this wall, therefore pipe work will have to be extended to reach.

However from my own research I think I need:
Mcalpine WM11 or Mcalpine SK1A (I'm unsure which one, I only have a 1 drain hole belfast sink, but unsure on which).

And

I only have the cold feed as shown in picture 2, from my research do I need a Y PIECE, but certain reviews have said a plastic one is no good, but a brass one would do the trick!

Then,

I think I just need a:
cold feed extension of 2-2.5m
and
waste pipe extension of 2-2.5m

Am I on the right wavelength here?

If anybody could help would be much appreciated, as I'm wanting to achieve to do this myself!

Cheers

Unless someone knows better, you will struggle to find a 3/4" 'Y' piece in brass.
British Gas - who we supply with the plastic one - wanted to change to a brass one.
All we could find were Far Eastern manufacturers who wanted a commitment for thousands of them.

Can anyone please confirm for me, that what i've said I need to do, is correct?

As it comes next week, and I will be looking at getting the bits over the weekend.

Thanks

The McAlpine WM11 should be ok, assuming the telescopic inlet will provide sufficient height to reach the sink waste from the existing waste pipe. The current trap looks quite high. However, beware of a long waste hose run. I'm sure there'll be a non return valve in the outlet from the machine but if this clogs up then the machine may not drain properly. The hose will fill with water and run back into the machine which will cause you problems.

Is it possible to run a new waste pipe to the dishwasher location and provide a standpipe there for the supplied outlet hose to hook into?
