I am ready to progress beyond the cheap n cheerful Black & Decker that I have been using for years. I will have plenty of use for a quality tool as I refurb quite a big house over the next few years. Can anyone make a reccomendation? I borrowed a professional Bosch model from a friend once to cut a large curve in some decking and I was very impressed with the performance, but I was wondering about dewalt or others. Looking to spend around £70-100.

Thanks

i dont think the words good quality and £100 for a jigsaw should be in the same sentance. i beleive one owns the other in respect of black and decker and dewalt

Whats a good jigsaw?

I got a really good one called "Wallace and Grommitt at the seaside"

lots of sky and sand background made it difficult.

I finished in only two weeks, which I think was very good, because on the box it said "5 to 7 years"

I was thinking of a gag along the same lines, but decided it would be too lame :D :D :D

Have to agree there. I used to buy nothing else but DeWalt, but I really don't like the quality of their stuff any more.

Makita all the way for me now :D

I just bought a Makita 4350FCT 240V Variable Speed Orbital Jigsaw with worklight of ebay new for £65 plus shipping. I let my chippie mate use it first and he said it was beautifull. ite better than my 18volt corless makita jigsaw and very low noise and vibration compared to the dewalt or bosch models.
