Hardly. I'd prefer a fair transition worldwide without the political posturing. From a purely selfish point of view I want to continue using the ICE till I die because that's what I'm interested in. I hope I can.

They might if EV's are even close to being practical by then. Maybe they will, who knows. Market forces are just another unfair way to move people onto expensive EV (although EU meddling into safety doesn't help prices either), life's not fair though, particularly not here. Diesel is likely to...

Nothing, but they'll be banned soon enough anyway thanks to our politicians.

I think it's a cynical way to rid the world of "polluting" vehicles faster in the ridiculous push for EV dominance. The average Joe with no interest in their car will let it fall apart over 2 yrs, goes for it's MOT, gets a two page fail sheet that they can't afford so they lease a leccy thing...

Do car engineers deliberately make things difficult ?

This will likely receive the disdain it should probably rightfully get, but I got bored of lying about on the floor doing oil changes and bought a dipstick tube oil pump from Lidl's a while back for 20 quid. Fire the tube down the dipstick hole, connect to battery, turn on and around 15 mins...

    Who uses their burglar alarm?

I used to fit burglar alarms and my neighbours was forever going off. I used to go out and check nothing was amiss pretty much every time, unless half cut. Went for a look one time and the police turned up thinking I was the burglar, didn't take a lot of explaining to sort it out to be fair to...

    effervescence and spalling

Hi folks. I have effervescence/blooming started on 3 external walls. All 3 are garden boundaries shared by neighbours and are 25 years old. We've only been here 2 years but it wasn't doing it last year so who knows why it's started now. I'm wondering if maybe it's because the top of the walls...

    fast cars

I know the feeling, I've had the track car for probably 10 years now and even though I'll never see it on the road again I'll be gutted when it goes. Should never have tracked it and just repaired the arches but they were so cheap and plentiful back then. Hindsight.

    fast cars

I've not had a road car for almost 4 years because I bought the van :( Don't really like new cars cos it's harder to fix on the drive with all their coded electrical pish. Have been looking at newish quick estates recently for rapid dog transport but not found anything I really like. Had loads...

    Moving home, moving Hive...

And an "estate agent" would? The fookin surveyors don't even have a clue so how you think any desk jockey does I don't know. The conveyancing solicitor and and the "estate agent" are often the same thing or at least working for the same firm. Mine was one woman, sold and bought my houses last...

    Moving home, moving Hive...

You know, the solicitor that actually conveys the sale of your house, checks it's all legal and sends the paperwork back and forth between the two parties that details the legal sale of the property, including what is and isn't covered in the event of a problem arising. That solicitor. You call...
