I have laminate flooring in longish strips at my place. I did not install it myself but wanted to change/swap a damaged area. How do I find out if it's click flooring I have or if it's sealed in somehow? What sort of spot at edge of room should I look for to try to take it up? I mean would I for instance need to go with or against the order it was installed in (something I don't know)? I would prefer just to start near to wear the damage is obviously. Obvs I'll need to take some skirting off. Sorry, no idea...

does it go into a doorway under a strip??
do you have any molding around the edge ??
do you have a picture

Where in the room is the damaged area? Is it closed to a wall? Do you still have any spare boards left over, as different manufacturers/brands have a different design locking system.

yes, molding round edge. ah yes, so that's what i will need to remove rather than skirting board.
yes one part goes into doorway under a narrow strip.
will try and sort a picture.

the damaged area is fairly close to a wall but now in very visible spot near doorway.
no boards left over, can only hope to repair as best i can with laminate repair kit and then hopefully unlock and swap with another board closer to corner.

remove the strip in the doorway and expose the end and take a close and a general picture
i am afraid you have around a 30% chance off damage if its quality click unglued when trying to move it if its glued its worse
