Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how I wire 2 devices onto one zone on my G2-20? I would never normally but as it is not for an intruder zone just a fire zone, and I only have 1 zone free which has been earmarked for another device, and I just can't seem to figure it out...

Thanks in advance

JJ

The easiest way would be to cable both smoke detectors back to the panel/RIO. Connect the power for each detector in parallel (obvious, really) to the +12V and common and connect the two alarm outputs in series. Then fit the resistors in the panel/RIO in the normal way.

Noddy's guide:
Say that you're using the blue and yellow for the alarm connections in the detector, connect the first detector's blue to the second detector's yellow. Connect the first detector's yellow to the zone input along with one end of the 1k alarm resistor. Connect the other end of this resistor to the second detector's blue AND one end of the 1k tamper resistor. Finally, connect the other end of the tamper resistor to the zone common.

You should end up with two twisted joints (in choc block) - one blue and yellow, the other with a blue and one end of two resistors.

If I could do half-decent pictures on this iPad, I'd do you a sketch but I hope you get the idea!
