perpends mortar

Is it necessary to mortar perpends on Celcon foundation blocks? I can see that on wet ground it would allow water out rather than dam it in but does not mortaring weaken the structure in any way? many thanks

The perp joints are inherent in the strength and stability of any wall.

And they should be full too, not just pointed to look full.

Thanks woody. I ask because Celcon`s website states perps not necessary and saves time but seems not a good idea to me.
