Radiator off the wall... Help!

Hi, i am clueless about all things radiator. Last night my daughter managed to knock the radiator off it's brackets with her rocking horse. It came clean off both sets of brackets and landed on the horse rather than right to the floor. The radiator has two flexible hoses one either end that go into a central covered hole in the wall. The radiator is currently switched off at the thermostat valve but there is no leaking from anywhere and i switched the radiator and heating on last night and it worked fine, with no leaks. Im really looking for a bit of reassurance from somebody "in the know" that it will be ok. Would something like that cause the pipes to leak behind the wall and would the radiator still heat up if that was the case. Thanks very much #clueless.

If no leaks/visible damage and boiler working you're most likely OK.

Just gently lift rad back onto brackets.

Thanks, i put it straight back on brackets last night as soon as it happened. Would leak be immediate if damage was done? Thanks for your reply :)

I assume one end of the rocker was under the radiator and then your daughter moved to make that end of the rocker lift up and lift the radiator
If that was what happened then it might be an idea to fit something under the radiator to prevent a repeat. Children do love to repeat things that create exciting situations.

It was something to that affect bernardgreen! Horse now at the other end of the room! There will be no repeat as it was a total accident and she was horrified and very upset by what she had done! All i care about now is the condition if the radiator, im guessing as nothing obvious is leaking or broken that it will be ok. More concerned about a leak i cannot see like behind the wall but not sure how much force it would take to create it or even how I would detect it, signs to look out for (other than my ceiling falling down )

The hoses that go into the wall from each side of the radiator are bendy , if radiator wasnt on the wall then they would reach down to near the floor but as radiator on the brackets they are curled from hole in the wall, which is central, to either side the radiator, so pretty flexible i guess . :)

Any leak would manifest itself pretty quickly, so observe for a day or two but relaaaaax.
Its pretty unusual to have flexy connectors used this way, but its common enough overseas.
John :)

Thankyou john, my house only 2 years old so guessing its a cheaper way, as with everything else!!!!

Just wondering if your rads are fed with small diameter plastic pipes, rather than the braided flexible ones I imagined.....no worries, the same observations apply.
John :)

The pipes look like this!

If you have a pressure guage on your boiler check it's not losing pressure, but you're probably good. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
