Hi all, have a vauxhall omega elite 1999,2.5, v6 auto, the problem is when going up hill the engine is hesitant and can happen on the flat, replaced the airflow metre still the same, took it to vauxhall main dealer to put on analyser no faults came up and my engine managment has never come on. So vauxhall suggested they should replace plugs and leads to start with for £222-00. Yeh right, all helpfulll suggestions to solve this problem appreciated, thanks for your time!

Try without the air filter, just to test.
Fuel filter?
Look for air leaks into the inlet manifold/fractured plastic pipes.
Wouldn't think its plugs/leads but they might know best having, heard it running
You could try some of the Vauxhall forums, might be a common problem?

Hi mate, sorry for the late reply, only just seen your thread.
I used to have a V6 Omega and had similar symptoms to those you're describing.
Turns out it was the coil pack which, unfortunately, is a bugger to fit as it's at the back of the engine, under the bulkhead.

On a different subject, once you've got it running well, you can turn it into a God of Thunder .................... should you wish to!
I did it on mine and it was stunning ......................... and legal!
I removed the rear box and got two pieces of straight through exhaust joined to where the two pipes entered the front of the rear box.
The advantages are two-fold,
1. You have twin tailpipes poking out of the back of the car ........................ sexy.
2. You have a car that sounds AWESOME!
Oh, and I never got stopped and it never was an issue at MOT time.
P.S. Keep the rear box in case you ever need to put it back on.

Good luck and I hope you get it sorted.
