Morning all,

I'm looking at building my own shed and I just want to double check something.

I need to know if the roof angle is critical.... or can I just build what suits me best? (As Height restriction is an issue)

My shed will be 10ft x 14ft wide and 6ft from the floor to the eaves.

I was planning on on giving 400mm height for the apex (which puts me upto the max height I can go).

I think that gives me a pitch of around 18.4°

Would this be ok?

I assume the shed is within 2m of a boundary?

Assuming the answer is yes, why only 400mm?

That's ample pitch. Really you have to be careful when you get much lower than that in case the roof sags and you end up with pooling. but 18° is fine.

FMT - As you are the expert - Am I correct in thinking that eaves 1.8m tall would still leave 700mm for the roof apex? Or am I misunderstanding?

Thanks

Depends which way the roof is pitched .......

It would give about 700mm one way and 500mm the other .........

But then the clear height inside would need to be say 1.8 so outside will be a bit higher .......

Questions questions ......

But the OP asked a simple question originally and we have answered it.

Thanks for the answers folks,
Due to a few factors, 400mm is all I can go to without losing the height inside (floor to eaves).
Thanks for your help.
