Hi. I have built a lean-to onto a peddledash over stone wall on an old Scottish house. The lean-to is fibre slated. Put 300mm lead on the slate bent up the wall 90mm so 210mm over slates. I cut a 50mm deep slot for flashing into the p/d - mastiked and inserted 150mm lead flashing and bent this down over the upstand lead. Then masticked the slot completely.

Now I am getting wet down the p/d wall inside the lean-to and can't see how this is happening.

Have I done something wrong?

Any ideas?

Why not post pics of the outside and the inside of the lean to?

The water is likely by-passing the abutment flashing higher up. What is the condition of the pebbledash higher up the wall, i.e. above the flashing chase?

Thanks Gents. Will post pics and inspect wall tomorrow. Mean to try hosepipe also.

Use the hose on the lower elements first and work your way higher. Window reveals, where the render abuts the jamb, are particularly vulnerable, especially if you have had replacement windows.

Thanks Noseall - Tried the hose as you suggested and found a flaw in my masticking! Easy to fix tho, better than the whole wall? Ta. Doots
