Hi chaps I'm not the only one that has bought a powertool without a carry case and I'm looking to save a bit of space by getting retrofit cases for the ones without as they are more easily stacked.

I've got a router and circular saw that came in carboard boxes and it's such a pain using them because the bits and pieces get lost.

The router is a **** brand from homebase 'powerbase' and the circular saw I bought in argos (lol) called an 'xtreme'.

I'm phoning their customer services but in the event they are ****ing useless (95% possibility) I'm going to post here to see if anyone's come a crop the same thing.

Option 1 : buy a one size fits all carry bag

Option 2 : buy a plastic moulded carry case but that is designed for another brand of tool and hope it fits

Option 3 : bin it and buy new tools with cases (shame)

Buy empty cases and some foam (cheap online) and cut out the appropriate shapes to fit both the case and the tool. Sounds like a PITA but it's not. Worth it rather than use a bag or buy new tools.

Yeah. Turkey said you were a case with a lot of baggage...

;)

I would need to see a DIY how to do for that foam option, sounds like a disaster

Bit of scrap ply and knock up as rough as looking one as possible , add a few tasteless stickers and paint splashes ,job done . Much less pinch able than a nice shiney named box.

Wouldn't know where to start in making one ... ?

Cases offer better protection especially whilst in transit. A must in the winter also.

We have a local recycling scavenging yard and I have picked up a couple of plastic power tool cases from there. Once home, I have used my multi tool gadget, cut out the shaped plastic insert and have an empty box for storing a new power tool.
No cost and environmentally friendly

 Very good , now you really must be joking . I mean anyone who can't make a box shouldn't be allowed anywhere near power tools in the first place.

you can also use squirty foam to make moulded inserts.

WRAP YOUR TOOLS IN CLING FILM FIRST AND DO EACH HALF OF THE CASE SEPARATELY.

I have an old one that you can have, Hawkeye.
The only drawback is that it says Black and Decker on it!

Any DIY videos on how to do these funky things please paste the link to the video chaps, otherwise it's unclear to me, unless I have someone show me I can't work it out on my own
