I was quoting a post from someone which had photos in, and I did not want them in my quote.

As you can see in this screenshot the cursor is to the right of the word "dimmer" and therefore somewhere to the left of the photo.

No matter how many times I hit the delete key, the photo remains.

Can you move the cursor to the right (so it moves to after the picture) and then use the backspace key? I have just tried that and it works.

Yes, but why does the Windoze paradigm of the DELete key deleting what is to the right of the insertion point not apply?

Just tried on my Windows and it works fine with the delete key - Windows 7 using Chrome, Internet Explorer. There was one occasion where it occurred on Firefox, are you using Firefox?

Related problem with this.

I wanted to put an opening quote tag at the start of the last line, but this is where the insertion point actually is:

This is not what I want, and neither does it work, but it's what I get.

Yes, I know I can do what I did, which was to put the tag on the line before and then delete the newline, but really I shouldn't have to.

Well it works for me, just hitting the delete key and I use FF too
Maybe yours is being grumpy? :)

Another example, and here in the screenshot you can see that my cursor, my insertion point, is after the full stop and before the image:

No matter how many times I hit the [Delete] key, which is supposed to delete what is to the right of the cursor, the image does not get deleted.

Mod entry - use the spanner icon on the top right to use direct text editing. That should make it easy .

Yup, or move the cursor & delete to the left of it,

But that's not the point, nor is it the only problem associated with the cursor.
