Texecom EOL Help

Hi I have just got a Texecom Excel alarm and I'm in the process of fitting PIR's etc. I have been trying to get my head around EOL wiring (i've never come accross this before) and I was hoping someone could advise me if I have understood it correctly and my proposed wiring is correct.

From what I have read this panel uses 4K7 and 2K2 resistors, luckily the PIR's I have got have built in resistors (they are Texecom as well) so I dont need to use any addtional resistors for these (I dont need anything at the panel end either?)?

This is my proposed wiring for the PIR:

Set Alarm Jumper to 4K7
Set Tamper Jumper to 2K2


Does this look right? I will obviously have 2 wires going from - \ + on the PIR to AUX on the panel as well.

That's right, has the manual been updated as you need to program the system for eol, originally they used 10k and 22k, but they did make changes to the panel to use the same as the premier range >V3.12 R8+/Excel approx. 3 years ago. However don't know if they kept this function or not for the 4k7 and 2k2.

However the LCD keypad couldn't change the resistor values if I recall correctly but the LED keypad could and it was menu 30, led 2 to be on I believe to change them after it had been turned on in menu 03 option 2 and 3 on.

Just looked at the instruction's on Texecom website they don't appear to mention anything about the values and that is issue 10 manual.

Don't forget if you have any magnetic contacts on the system you will have to convert them for use on the EOL system, you can't mix EOL and Global on the Excel.

It's either all EOL or all Global.

If you are using the door contacts then you would need the 4k7 and 2k2 resistors adding or selecting.
But if you have the lcd keypad it may not be capable of switching to use the 4k7 2k2 that would have to be checked.
Don't forget some door contacts you can select the resistors on anyway for a few more quid than a standard contact if it makes it easier.
Asked Texecom for an update on the LCD keypad capability, but given the time of day it will probably be tomorrow for the response.

Excel comes with the LCD keypad not the LED.

Hi thanks all for the replies much appreciated, I've done some more reading today and it does say in the manual that the 4K7 and 2K2 resistors can be used but as you say securiam the EOL values cannot be changed on the panel with the LCD keypad so looks like that is a none starter if I'm using the onboard resistors in the PIR's.

I was going to have a go at adding the resistors to the door contacts (I'm slowly getting my head around EOL) but I will have a look at built in resistors as well.

The Texecom PIR's I was sent do not have 10K and 22K resistors built in, all that's available to choose from is:

Alarm 4K7, 1K, 6K8, 5K6
Tamper 2K2, 1K, 4K7, 5K6

If I want to use these PIR's can I add the resistors and just leave the alarm and tamper jumpers off?

I suppose the alternative is to just use a global tamper instead?

what issue is the manual you have as I tried a download today and couldn't find it?

You can wire in the 22k and the 10k resistors into the pirs as described in the manual. I prefer eol to global tamper but, I would rather go premier elite for the price difference and get so much more flexibility.
