Hi All,

I've got a gap between worktop and tiles and it's been silicone sealed which has failed.
I'm in process of renewing with Dow Corning 785 which I'm hoping will do a better job.
In the 1st pic the worktop fits nicely under the tiles so I've got a base for silicone to stick to.

Where the problem arises is in the second pic. Worktop is cut short by about 5mm so I've nothing to anchor the silicone to.

Should I bridge out the gap in some way or could a product like Sikaflex EBT adhesive/sealant do the job of sticking to edge of worktop and bridging gap between worktop and wall.

Appreciate any advice as have spent too much in the past by guesswork!

PS sorry the pics aren't the clearest.

Cheers
Dan

Infill the 5mm gap with additional silicon, fill gap and knife in till flat, then reply a second bead of silicone to finish off.

Cheers for the reply. Yet to do this as developed a roof leak and been busy with that.
Will try it though.

Its looks to me as though the work surface has "settled", are its rear legs done up tight?, is the floor good?. Has the wall risen :)
