Police won't bother with burglaries

Got to be time we got rid of the CPS. Give back the decision to prosecute criminals, to the police. Look at recent decisions by the CPS,,, "Not in the public interest to prosecute a paedophile (Greville Janner) because he has Alzheimers... Did they not realise that his long term memory remains ?

This thread is typical DM fodder and is a misleading load of tripe. What a bunch of gullible twonks.

The police are being cut back due to reduced funding, and can only do a limited amount of investigation if any. And yes many coppers complain about target driven policing.

Oooh goody, I'll take up burglary then, since it has been decriminalised.
I think I'll join you. Can I join your gang?

Of course, before performing any burglaries, we much research the ethnic origins of the proposed victims, as choosing the wrong one could elicit a priority response and the instant attendance of dozens of armed policepersons.

Good point. Better make sure it has a tidy garden then, preferably one with gnomes, that is a good indicator of 'ethnicitiy', or lack thereof. (The b'stards deserve to be burgled anyway for having no taste ...)

Remember to take a decent camera phone with you too, together with a claim for blame form should you get injured accidentally as you enter or leave the property, or are assaulted (physically or verbally) by the house owner whom you are burgling from.

it "could be" that if an iPad was stolen from a home an officer would not come round to investigate........... it might mean if you've had a burglary, for example, and the burglar has fled, we won't get there as quickly as we have in the past.

Nowhere does it say that burglaries will be decriminalised.

Nowhere does it say they won't be investigated.

What it does say is...."Of course, we will still want to gather evidence, but we might do it in different ways."

Also, she is referring to specific circumstances. Typical DM style reporting fed to gullible naïve fools.

Headline in The Times: "Don't expect us to show up to burglaries, police chief warns". Sometimes the DM reports the news, rather than make it up

The point of my post was that it has been reported DM style by all parties. It doesn't take a genius to work out how the gullible masses will interpret the story, as has been proven right here on this thread.

Are you autistic, or just somewhat literal minded? Generally what people write has to be taken with the realisation that there may be an element of irony, hyperbole, or wit. Okay, you can remove the last one when interpreting my posts, but they are not intended to be interpreted as is. I'm not a computer you know. Whirr, click, does not compute, does not compute ...
