Hi,

I'm looking at opening up the downstairs of our property which involves the removal of a number of walls (see above). I know that I will need to obtain expert advice from structural engineers and any work would require RSJ supports, however I was just looking for the thought of others and any possible 'ball park' quotes/estimates (excluding finishing, structural engineer/building control costs).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

THanks :D

Need a couple of extra details to help you out with a ***ball park **** figure.

How many floors are above the walls your taking out?

Are you happy to have the beams on show (rather than hidden in the ceiling void?)

The house is a typical ground floor first floor accommodation, with a boarded out loft used for storage.

It would be interesting to know what the price difference is between hidden/exposed beams.

Thanks

If you are thinking of removing all those coloured walls, and an engineer can come up with a solution, you're looking at a £15-20k job.
