New Shed Leaking - Poor workmanship

This is my first post here so apologies if it is in the wrong section.

I had a shed delived and erected on Friday. Since then I have noticed far too many problems to let slip.

Currently its raining sideways outside sonthe windows are catching the rain, dribbling down the glass and then pooling on the floor of the shed. Now obviously this needs sorting and the manufacturers have agreed to sort the issue out.

However I have now noiced that some of the walls are soaking wet on the opposite side of the shed. Is this normal? Will the wood swell and seal?

It's an 8x10 Loglap shed with three windows. Non treated wood but painted (very badly by the manufacturers) with dulux weathershield wood stain.

This and the fact there are a hundred other things wrong with it is leading me to wanting a full refund. But obviously the company that now has my money aren't best pleased and will come "rectify" the problems.

Am I within my rights to demand a full refund on the grounds its Leaking left right and centre?

Sorry if all this is vague. I will try and list everthing else that is wrong and include photos as soon as possible.

The other faults may seem pedantic but once you notice one thing you check everything...

Did they do that staining?
My 2 eldest grandkids did better to mine when they were only 6! That is abysmal!
Over time sheds do expand and contract, ground settles etc and this can/will lead to faults such as minor leaks, doors going out of alignment etc, but this usually takes a year or more to become apparent.

I would insist on them dismantling and collecting their heap of wood but make sure you get a full refund first.
The Sale of Goods Act stipulates "Goods must be of merchantable quality and fit for purpose."

This is a garden shed and is obviously not fit for purpose. You do NOT have to accept a repair, but be warned, if you do then you will probably lose your right to a refund at a later date if they don't do it to your complete satisfaction.

Yes they are responsible for that poor attempt at painting. I am a professional decorator, but it doesn't take one to apply stain properly.

I have contacted trading standards/CAB/ Consumer helpline.

They have advised me that because they painted the shed and errected in on site, I am covered by "The supply of Goods and Services Act 1982"
I explained to them my absolute discust with the "Shed" which since delivered hadn't had anything but pools of water stored in it.
They said I that the best course of action is to allow them to take away the shed and rectify the problems. I have sent them a letter listing all of them problems and plan to send them around 50 photos of absolutely everything I have found to be wrong with it.
Some may seem silly and pedantic but for the money I paid I expected more. I'm almost certain I could do better myself.

The trader hasn't been very helpful and so far hasn't stuck to any agreements to call us back or contact us. All will be revealed tomorrow when they are due to collect the heap of...

Another reason I would like a full refund is because I know for a fact, if and when something goes wrong in the near futurr, they're not going to be at all helpful.

All this for a shed..

who built the base ??
are the wet patches caused by water bouncing off an adjoining surface??
have you got a link to the shed please and what did it cost ??

I built the base. Five 8ft concrete fence posts perpendicular to the shed joists. All were subk into the ground and level.

Water is running off of the roof and some can be seen running down the walls. Daylight can be seen through all 4 corners.

I paid £850.

They have come today to dismantle and attempt to recift the problem. I have sent them a letter detailing all the problems and what action I plan to take if the shed is still not satisfactory once returned.

i would ask them to assemble it at there yard and after 2 weeks with wet weather included go and see if its dry

what size is it 10x8ft ??

Yes it is 8 ft wide, 10ft long. Before any of this hassle I requested to paint the shed myself on their premises but was told I couldn't due to H&S. I'm doubtful they will allow me to visit their yard now.

I will however be watching every step of its construction if and when they come back with it. The letter they received this morning has hopefully enlightened them to how bad a job they have done.

i would be reluctant to have it back without at least seeing the remedial work
