I'm fitting an engineered wood floor on this underlay but wondered if I needed any additional damp proofing under the underlay?

The only reason I ask is I've lifted a window board which was originally fitting (stuck with a silicone it seems) and it smells a bit fusty and looks cracked in places. Here's the photo....

What would you suggest and what product would you suggest to fill in any crack or low points where the flooring has got holes etc?

Thanks for your help.

I wouldn't bother doing anything with it. If you really want to, just use a bit of mortar but unless there is damp coming up, the underlay and flooring should be ok. The underlay is like a damp course in itself.

It's probably had condensation run down the glass & got underneath. Make sure you provide a good seal between the frame & the edge when you refit. Personally I would leave an expansion gap & fit some edging along the frame.

Thanks for the help and advice guys. I've laid the floor now BUT.... in places it's springy and hollow so I'm guessing it wasn't level. I'm gutted as it's not the finish I wanted. What are your thoughts on pulling it up? Do you think it's worth using a circular saw and cutting through the centre of one plank and the pulling up half of the room where it's bad, levelling it and then relaying it? What's your advice/thoughts?

There's furniture going in this area but I like it to be perfect so I'm annoyed. One half of the room is absolutely fine but one half is springy.

Thanks for any help/advice you can give.
