Hi everyone, I own a PRM 10 projector made by Promethean that used to work fine, but when I was mounting it to the ceiling I got an electric shock from the light fitting (which has since been removed) and dropped the projector from a height of approximately 3ft, it instantly powered off and having left it to rest and cool down it still won't boot, has anyone got any ideas as to what it could be that's causing the problem?

Thanks

JJ

Anything sound loose if you shake it lightly? Is there no activity at all when you press the power button... LEDS, fans, etc?

Always start off simple and try a new cable/fuse in another plug socket. After that i'd open it up to inspect for any obvious visual damage to anything/loose or disconnected cables. If no signs of anything obvious start troubleshooting where the power comes in.

Good luck (y)

Hi, when I power it up the power led flashes then the fans stop and the warning light comes on, had a look inside and there's no obvious damage, apart from the cracked casing no loose cables or fuses (that I can see)

Thanks

JJ

Mmm not sure then... might try and look at the projectors internal power supply for any damaged components, capacitors, etc.
If its a damaged component or IC on the projectors mainboard then I wouldn't be holding my breath.

Probably blown the bulb which will not allow the unit to turn on until replaced.
