Fitting new Hob, Advice please

Last time I changed one of these it only had 3 wire's, this new one has 5, Earth yellow/green.
Black/Brown Live (paired) Grey/Blue Neut, (paired).This cable is fitted to the new Hob about 1.5 mtrs in length.
The old one to be removed has a length of twin and earth, flat grey cable, about 3mtrs long going from a white plastic cooker box with a socket for the cooker and separate switch for the hob.
What I want to know is should I take out the twin and earth cable and just use the one attached to the new Hob, and wire it into the white box, the short cable should still reach the box.

Yes use the cable that came with the hob

The hob is able to use a 3-phase or single phase supply.
Your house and your hob come ready to use a single-phase supply.

The live and neutral wires are not paired, whta makes you think that they are????
PLEASE note that black brown blue and grey are just the colours of the wires. What they actually do is determined by the maker and the INSTRUCTIONS THAT ARE SUPPLIED WITH THE HOB will tell you how to connect it.

If you still are not sure, come back and help a bit by stating the make and model number.

BUT PLEASE read the instructions first.

Use the cable supplied with the hob, it is designed to be wired as either single or multi-phase. There will be very likely factory fitted links on the appliance terminals that accommodate a single phase set up. I would expect to find a wiring diagram on the underside of the hob?

Hi Taylortwocities, The wires are paired, if you read my first post they are live Brown and Black paired------ Grey and Blue Neutral paired, sorry if you thought I meant live and neutral paired, The make is Cooke and Lewis, model CLEC 1B-K, Volt/Tens 220-240V 50/60HZ, Total power 5500-6600W

I have done this before but like I say the existing one is only twin and earth and wired straight into the Hob from the white cooker box, the extra wires on this one had me a bit confused, as I was going to remove them and just use the existing twin and earth, but as explained above I now know its for single and multi-phase, hope the other info helps.

Use the cable that is supplied. Its all you need. How hard can it be?

That's downright ambiguous.

A switched fuse connection unit to 1363....the fuse must be 30A???

Surely a 6.6kW hob just needs a DP switch?

I would say 'ridiculous', rather than ambiguous - as you say, a SFCU obviously cannot have a 30A fuse, and nor is there any way that a 6.6kW load can be connected via an FCU!

Talortwotittes, I did not say it was hard, YOU DID, you must be good at growing MUSHROOMS because that's what you have done here, if you cant give a bit of advice without trying to be a smart arse, then your advice I can do without.

Mate, you have the instructions. It tells you what the THREE connections are, the wall connection has three connections that (I hope) you can identify as L, N and E.
The third post, from Andy , told you what to do. You asked why the wires were paired and I took the trouble to try and explain why this was.
I took a lot of time and trouble to try and help you out and to detail the information that you already must have had. That's why I got frustrated.

Next time you ask I'll just leave you to it and let you suffer.
