Failure to 'engage the brain'

Wiring a plug at the end of a long day, I thought I'd just test it worked before screwing the back on. Of course its the back-plate that pushes the pins into the socket, so having left my brains elsewhere, I used my thumbs to first push in the earth and then the live and neutral.
Actually went clear across a bed and landed on the floor the other side, rueing my stupidity throughout the flight.

to make you feel better,years ago i was installing a door frame they all had to be exact to a datum,so no screed etc was there,was standing on a trestle banging this door frame up missed and took a full smack in the middle of my forehead.m8 next to me started crying in laughter,I was crying in pain.

you know its goner happen but you still do it anyways.....
 
Count your self lucky; what were you even thinking of plugging the plug in without the back on! :eek:(n):rolleyes:

Also hope you have used the correct fuse ratting in the plug. :?:

Never mind the cover on or off - why was the switch socket ON ?
