Hi all, currently doing the bedroom out. We are insulating the walls that's why battening worked out cheaper than getting the insulated plasterboard's. I have put all the vertical battens up 400mm centers, from floor to ceiling. Also put a batten along the center where the 2 boards will butt up. Is there any need to put a batten up the top of the wall as well as the bottom? using 12.5mm boards. Many thanks in advance any advice will be greatly appreciated :D

Don't think there be any need for battens on the floor as skirting will be going there marked down where each vertical barren is to screw the skirting to :)

Hi

At one time it was conventional to place two noggins at the bottom above the floor to assist with nailing the Skirting on to but with the trend to use glue for Skirting fix this appears to possibly now be obsolete as an idea.

just a thought depends on how you will fix the Skirting's?
