Looking at fitting Cembrit Jutland fibre cement tiles on a relatively small roof. Quite a low roof, ridge is at 2.5 metres, so fancy having a go myself at fitting these tiles.
Just need some advice on how to finish off the tiles against a side wall. Both pitches and the ridge are against the wall which is about 300 mm higher.
Cembrit on their website show lead soakers with a cover flashing over the tiles. But I have come across some sites showing a continuous running soaker strip, which seems to have a small gutter running down under the edge of the tiles against the wall. How would this be finished under the ridge?

Do you have enough pitch i.e. greater than 20 degrees?

You can use either a proprietary GRP abutment flashing or use individual lead soakers.

The pitch is 25 degrees
Which way does the grp abutment flashing fit? Seems to be a bit of a minefield how to weatherproof against a side wall and finding it hard to find info.

Why would you buy that rubbish just buy some slates and use one slate then one soaker.

Ooooh you need to give some more reasons why they are rubbish. Is there something about fibre cement tiles that I should know about?

Well they never look good for long as opposed to slate which they are trying to copy.

IMHO soakers win all the way. less likely to get blockage issues as you can and do with secret gutter detailing.
soakers don't need to be lead they are available in alloy which is not only cheaper but will not leech and will last as long as the cf slates. sure you can oil your lead but its not always perfect.
CF slates serve a purpose. Personally Jutland is one of the better ones. check guarantee and see.
