Hi
I have a whirlpool 20rb-d3sf side by side fridge freezer. Last week I went to change the water filter and when I pulled the old one out water was pouring out of the housing all over the floor. I put the new filter in but it still leaks a bit. I've tried cleaning housing out but still the same. So I presume I need a new filter housing.

The problem is I can't get the old one out. I've removed the bottom grill and the two screws holding the housing at the front but it is sitting behind a lip on the Base of the fridge and the gap is too small to get it out. Do I need to remove the whole Base of the fridge freezer?

Hi @jordy_boy or anyone else who might be able to help

On the off-chance that you are still receiving updates from this thread, did you resolve the issue? I have exactly the same problem on a Whirlpool WSF5574A. The online videos of similar filter housing removal show the filter housing being removed from the front of the unit as the lip on the housing is on the exterior of the lip of the metal base of the unit. But, as with yours, the filter housing lip is behind the lip of the unit, so it won't pull out. There's no room to raise anything, and it can't be pulled out from the back. We had a freelance service engineer out to visit yesterday and he couldn't figure out how to get it out either.

The current link to the replacement part is https://www.4whirlpool.co.uk/filter-housing/product.pl?pid=961925&query=WSF5574A

Many thanks in advance.
