Does anybody know where I can get a strap boss for 110 soil to 68 rain water? Does such a fitting exist?

I believe they do not exist, generally strap boss are adapted for 32mm and 40mm.
I also believe it is not permitted to allow rainwater to drain in to foul waste, under building controls and BS.

Depends on your drains. Ours is combined rain and foul but it's an old house. I think the problem would be the sealing. A soil pipe is air and water tight up to any the vent or any traps, a rainwater pipe won't be. Our rainwater goes into the sewer via a trap.

There is a 68 to 110mm fitting available to join downpipe to the drain, but as previously said, it depends what you wish to do and if you are complying with regs. Direct connection of a rainwater pipe to a soil pipe is not allowed, for several reasons. One of which is you may fill the loft space with drain odours....

I will have to revert to plan B then, I realise now that the top of the down pipe where the gutter is would effectively act as a vent and as its below the roof that's a no. Thanks for the help though chaps.
