Hi

I have a alcove that had corked tiles which are now removed. I thought I would attempt to plaster this myself as its such a small area but wasn't sure of one point.

The front edge of the alcove is in good condition. Would new beading have to be added over the existing corners / old beading, or is there another way as that would obviously mean the wall that the alcove is on would also have to be re plastered and its condition is fine.

Thanks for any advice.

No more beads are not needed you taper and blend the skim into the existing beads easy job for a pro but maybe a bit of a challenge for a novice

Exactly as Steve says. As long as the original beading is in good condition, just feather away the new plaster at the bead edge. Don't forget to pva the areas first.
