I've got a problem I live next to a snicket which is a slope so people just look in the garden all the time even at the highest point of our fence me 5'8" can see over it on my tip toes.

But because my gardens level the fence is holding back 2' high of soil so I need ideas of how to achieve a fence height of around 7 to 8 foot (I'm not bothered of law I don't want theafs eyeing my garden up) so what's the biggest concrete post or will it have to be wood post?

Pictures to follow!

The best way in my opinion is to use an 8ft concrete post and bolt a timber post onto the side of it. This can get you up easily to 9ft. You can get 3m concrete posts but they start to get enormous like 6x5 and are incredibly heavy and hard to work with.

This way at least in 10 years if you need to you can simply leave the conc post in place and bolt a new timber one to it. I have just done this arrangement on a job and will get a photo for you tomo.

I never thought of that.. Some pictures would be great if you can get me a few please to see how you've done it.

So this is an 8ft concrete post. It is 5"x5" it is buried 2ft into the ground and has a 4" post bolted to it. If its in an exposed location you may need to use a 3m conc post but be warned they are often 6"x5 and a struggle for even 2 men
