Hi I'm looking for a bit of advice/confirmation on moving a loft hatch. We have a 1950s house with a separate toilet by the side of the bathroom, which we will be making into one and the loft hatch straddles where the new bit of wall will go.
We want to move the hatch down (towards the light fitting) and slightly to the right as it currently goes through two joists.
Below is the current hatch from in the loft, from this photo we would put it to the right of the current hatch and up a bit so it only cuts through one joist.
Proposed place for new hatch.
Does this look ok? Is it alright to have the new hatch so close to the old one or would it be better to have it the other side of the large beam (sorry can't think of the technical term for it)?
Thanks in advance for your help
