Hi,

I need some advice please. I want to install a drain in my back yard. The previous owner concreted an area that is 17ft x 14ft. This is where I keep my dogs. When I wash this area down in the mornings the water pools at the lowest point. The nearest drain is 20 ft away. I want to install a drain that is at the lowest point.

Where the water pools at the lowest point is directly over the main drainage pipe that connects to the main sewer pipe. Could I just knock through into the outlet pipe and cement a cover into place. hope I have explained this correctly. Have been trying to find a video but have had no luck.

Many thanks

NO, after i have picked up the waste I wash the area with disinfectant and this pools at the lowest point. This is what I want to place a drain to drain away the excess!!!!!

See if you can pick up a connection from your rainwater drainage, that should go to your own soakaway rather than down the waterboards sewer network.

Any drainage into the main sewer has to be notified with building control. They may make you draw up some plans.

You can't just tap into the main sewer.
