Radio - I think is the CDR-500 ,

I have a Carkit for a Nokia 6310i fitted to the car - this was fitted by my company in 2004 , I nolonger work for the company

the phone turned off the radio when in use - I think it has a speaker of its own - as it does not come via the radio speakers, at least i dont think so - isnt it funny how now its not working i cant remember - but to be fair my wife has been using the car since 2007

Anyway , today - it started to make a clicking noise and kept turning the radio and info unit on with MESSAGE on the screen.
I have removed fuse 34 - which does the info display and the radio

Any idea of a wiring diagram for the car kit - so i can start to diagnose where the fault maybe
I took the front control unit off the radio and it still switched the display on and made a clicking noise

my wife thinks she forced the glove compartment closed today which may have caused it

So then the next questions are

how do i get the radio out - from what i have read its a couple of screws in the 4 holes and then once removed - using a metal lever to remove - hoping to make up a couple of wire coat hangers to do that
Am i correct
next i think there's just a screw that holds the radio case into the dashboard and so that comes out so i can get to the wiring

also how do i get the glove compartment out so i can get to the cables that run down the passenger side

With the wiring - I dont know if they have cabled into the exiting loom and if i can then remake the connections - i guess solder and heat shrink
but without a wiring diagram I'm not sure

thanks for any help

I cant help with removing the glovebox but usually these kits are thrown in with little care and are fairly easy to remove.
If you can identify the brain of the system, usually fitted in space underneath or behind the glovebox the removal should be straightforward by simply tracing the cables from it.
Google images may help with a wiring diagram but as said they are usually very simple in design.

Thanks for the reply , I have done a little research and have seen there is a master box, I thought it was all spliced into the wiring loom , so thats good to know
Looks like a lot of screws to remove the footwell cover and glove box as the wires disappear in the footwell behind the panel

anyway, thanks again

Just follow the wiring first as there may be no need to remove the radio, i cant quite remember how it mutes the radio to be honest.
Removal keys are cheap enough online but coathangers do work, you just have to lever them to the side to push the spring loaded tabs across.

The glove box was help in by 4 screws and also the side panel , which needed to be uncliped
The car management using was just lose in the area around the glove compartment
so I removed all the connections - reconnected and then re-positioned all the wiring so that it ws out of the way of the glove box frame

All now working again

Thanks for the help and advice - knowing there was a master box helped
