Asked a long time ago about best low power downlights and the consensus here was haler h2s. So bought them, and only last week had a chance to fit em, best colour and brightness I've personnally seen out of LED downlights (even if they are a bit on the bulky side to fit)

Only hooked up with fly lead to a plug at the moment to test the brightness but looks like they will do the job nicely.

Thats the room at night, no window so total darkness apart from the halers

If you used lights designed to light up a room, rather than ones designed to not do that, you wouldn't need any where near as many.

BAS:

style
See definition in Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary
Line breaks: style
Pronunciation: /stʌɪl/

Definition of style in English:
noun

(2) A distinctive appearance, typically determined by the principles according to which something is designed:the pillars are no exception to the general style

At 8.5watts each, they give a great light in the room with the style of modern down lighters but only consuming the power of roughly one typical halogen down-lighter.

You just fit a single Energy-saver or fluorescent in every room BAS?

Check the terms of the warranty. My mate has had a couple of them fail - but he does have 29 of them ! When the first one went, they were out of warranty and he then realised that the 7 year warranty was conditional on registering them. It got sorted (lights registered) retrospectively.

They have been replaced by a different mode now.

No.

Nor do I agree that the distinctive appearance determined by the principles of using an excessive number of lights because they are not designed to do the job they are being called upon to do is stylish, nor that it betokens a sense of style. Quite the opposite, actually.

Well theres nothing wrong with having your own opinion, at least you stick to your guns. What would you have used to light that room for example (no window in it)

A smaller number of larger fittings. Maybe LED panels. Maybe non-recessed so that light doesn't just go downwards.

Oh - and BTW - I also veer away from the style of "modern" plumbing using push-fit plastic pipes...
