As it is. The flat has a 22mm copper cold mains water supply pipe. The pipe enters the flat from the landing. There is a quarter turn stop cock on the "outside" on the landing, which is easily accessible. The question is, does there need to be another stop cock on the inside of the flat as the mains pipe enters the flat?

thx

No one knows, so it must be fine. So I will leave it as it is with the stop cock outside.

Are you at the end of the line for the rising main or does it continue past your flat?

If you are the last stop then no problem - simply go out and check that the stop-valve works correctly.

If you are a branch-off from a continuing rising main then your stop-valve must be on your branch - inside or outside the flat is OK.

Thanks. It was so obvious that it is OK and the stock cock is far more accessible than one under a kitchen sink. But regs are sometimes odd.
