Hi all

Boiler is about 10years old on the original wilo pump, and now getting f75 fault. I've checked pressure, and as the boiler is fired up I can hear a drone from the pump, but it's not moving.

I have ordered a new pump, which is a grunfoss, can I change just the head after draining, or will I need to change the entire block?

Thanks

Lol. You'll be sorry.
A. U can't change just the head u gotta do the whole lot.

B. Probably gonna need a water pressure sensor. That's mainly the fault f75. You know when u drain it and pressure still reads 0.4mbar and the boilers empty.

Could be just the capacitor gone on the pump also get the pressure checked on the expansion vessel.

Hi

I thought you had to change the lot, done it with a 837 before, but read somewhere that could be done with just the head.

I'll try the pressure sensor as well, do you know the part number?

Would this also stop the pump from starting up?

Pressure checked on the EV and it was re-pressurised once empty and still have the code.

Is it easy to check the capacitor on the pump?

try spinning the pump by hand (take the screw out the front and insert a screwdriver) if the pump runs the cap is faulty.

Thanks

I've ordered new pump and new pressure sensor.

I've also found my old wilo pump from another one which I didnt throw away which just rattled, could take cap off this to test current pump fitted, before going through the hassle of removing the whole pump and housing

Yes but be careful as either cap could still be holding a charge.

just short the wires together once you have removed it from the pump.

On that model any internal work should be done by a gas safe reg engineer and not a DIYer as the cover forms the combustion seal.

Tony

I would not class the outer cover on an ecotec pro as a "combustion seal" but each to his own.
