Hi

Can any one recommend a reasonably priced wet saw for cutting different types of natural stone tiles up to 600mm x 400mm at 12mm thick. We will shortly be doing our bathroom with marble and travertine tiles and also next year we're hoping to do our kitchen which I'm thinking of possibly using slate. For the bathroom it is a fairly small amount of tiling about 10m2 but when we do the kitchen it will be at least 24m2.

Thanks

I know you can get some half decent ones at wickes. Got one about 5 years ago. Cost me £50 and i've used it for marble grantite slate an porcelain. Still going....... just.

Must admit though, it did struggle and sometimes cut slightly off line if you forced a tile through.

Have a look at a place in Blisworth called ProTilerTools. They do some pro cutters starting at 190 that will absolutely breeze through that stuff. Its sometime worth paying the extra if its not just for a one off job.

You might be OK with a cheaper machine if you buy a better blade. Mind you, your tiles are fairly soft (compared to porcelain).

Another alternative (but dusty) is £15 for a decent angle grinder blade.
