I've just read the terrible news that Westie passed away yesterday.

He was the only person on this forum who I'd had personal contact with. I PM'd him just to ask him who I should contact to report my cut-out didn't have a seal on it. His answer was "I'm passing your way tomorrow, I'll call in and do it". I think that shows the sort of person he was, always happy to help others.

RIP Westie.

Oh, very sad news. I had no contact with him other than through this forum. He was always direct, accurate and helpful to everybody.
RIP Westie, you will be very missed.

Westie will have the facts. Not seen him for a while - hope he's just on holiday, or doing interesting work stuff.

That is a tragedy. I too only knew him on here. Well, I say that, but there is a remote possibility I may have met him without realising it, depending on his patch, as we both worked in the NW.

One of those happy-go-lucky folk who found nothing too much trouble, he will indeed be sorely missed.

My thoughts are with his family.

How very sad. He will indeed be sadly missed, by us as well as by his family and real-world friends.

That's terrible news. He was a huge asset to this forum and will be sadly missed. Condolences to his friends and family.

Sad to hear, he had a huge amount of knowledge and experience in his field of expertise :(
RIP
