Id be grateful for any advice regarding some work my father had done today. A guy pitched up and said he was working in the area and noticed a problem with his ridge tiles. He inspected them and said they needed refixing and said he could do it for 950 quid cash. My father called me and i told him it sounded too high. He got them to stop but theyd already been up there for 20 minutes and fitted a clip to one of the end ridge tiles. They are coming back tomorrow to see me about the job. Im going to say no and expect to be charged something for the work that they did in those 20 minutes. Im trying to get an idea as to what would be fair so my dad doesnt get ripped off. Thanks in advance for any advice

My mates dad did the same thing a couple of weeks ago and got stung for £600 for a mornings
work fitting those individual dry verge protectors to one gable end bungalow, there just
thieves / conmen with a van and some tools as an excuse to knock on peoples door and rob them.
