I removed some decking that had covered the bottom of a UPVC door. The door does not appear to be fitted properly. There are seem to be 3 pieces of plywood supporting the door and the gap to the wall cavity is visible. From having a look online i think there should a least be a plastic sill below the door. Could anyone give me advice on any possible ways of fixing this? Any advice is much appreciated.

After some further research and looking at the door I found the below image. It looks like the door has been installed too far back in the opening ie directly over the cavity rather than above the exterior bricks. I think this has been done as the door is not a standard size and was too high for the opening made. Frame at the top seems to run behind the concrete lintel. I think i may have to bodge a fix for winter and then get a new door when finances permit the door mechanisms are on their last legs so don't want to spend much on rectifying the current issues.

Its obviously not fitted well.
Ideally you would take the door out wrap some DPC and maybe some insulation to prevent cold bridging into the cavity, Fill with concrete and then refit it.

You could remove a course of bricks and build a concrete step underneath to support the door (again with some dpc and insulation)

As a semi bodge/solution you may be able to take out the wood and slid in some PVC fascia board instead as a cill (is the wood 18mm thick?)
Or some slate.
Or maybe replace the wood with some new bits and cap over it and the bricks with fascia capping board and seal it well.
Not ideal but several ideas to consider there.

Thanks, for the suggestions, not sure if the wood is 18mm. Hopefully i'll be able to do one of these ideas. thanks again for the help.

The door installed in the manner you have stated is the proper instalation method in Scotland and Ireland.

Doors, windows are fitted tight to the inside of the external leaf.
Different instalation methology due to our more extremes of weather.

Looks like they have omitted a cill to get the decking hard up to the window.
