BBC. Is Britain Racist?

I just think there are too many. I'm sure said wife is very nice, but we are being swamped by hordes of people willing to undercut Brits and work for low wages. It can't be healthy. Maybe they are all beautiful people, inside and outside, above ground and below ground, but you can have too much of a good thing. Eat too much cake and you vomit.

You're married to an immigrant - what makes her different from all the other people who want to come over here?

She's not on the take, worked from day dot and accepts our values and culture - unlike many.

She is white (I presume) and Christian or rather not a muslim.

Yep,

She's white, Christian and not Muslim.

She came over here 20 odd years ago when they were not flooding in like now and when her country was not in the EU - it was hard work!
Even she agrees it's now out of hand. Anyone can scoff all they like at that comment and say hypocrite, but she gets as annoyed as I when people come over here either free-loading, or they are offended by our culture and heritage. At least she believes "when in Rome"...

Not really; she will be acceptable to those who do not like anyone who isn't.
So,

You're saying that if someone is either black, non Christian and possibly Muslim, they are generally not accepted?
I beg to differ. It's people that don't integrate, are offended by our culture / values and are on the free-load that are not acceptable.

I've heard a lot of complaints about Romanian's.
Thieving, begging, getting up to no good, drinking, being abusive, living 20 to a house and seem to have a habit of leaving rubbish everywhere. Not sure I'd like them near me to be honest!
On the other hand, my neighbours are Bulgarian. Super hard workers, pay their taxes, never on the scrounge, clean and tidy very nice people.

Yes, even some of our own are like that.

It's just that some people are horrible; not all people of some origins.

Yes, I agree.

You can't necessarily tar all from certain races / religions with the same brush 100%.
But, some do have lets say a "propensity" to behave in a certain manner.

My wife is Slovak, so I get to hear a bit of what's going on when she natters to her father, and the above is about right.
They have pretty much no intention of letting any of the "refugees" in. Even to the point where "apparently" those above in the Government said they would even completely ignore any EU directions or demands.
Even if they did submit in the end, rest assured the public would be out in mass and standing for zero nonsense.

Even for you, that's an extremely naïve and ignorant question.

Trouble with Romania is that many Brits think they are all Roma, when a large part of the Romanian population are actually Caucasian.

Some of the nicest people I have worked for are from Eastern Europe but I find they are generally wary of us and it takes a while to gain their trust. In my experience, the women are more trusting than the men. Also, us Brits can't really work out where they are from because we don't really understand the difference between all the countries. :D

That's clever: the way in which you use a diaeresis.

The only way I can do it is to write the word in Word, copy it, and then paste it on here.
Is that what you do, or do you have some easier method?
