Protective film on windows flaking

I have left a window too long with the protective film on and now its difficult to
remove as it is flaking to little pieces does anybody have a tip for a foolish idiot please.

Yes remove the tape straight after installation. :sneaky:
Sorry the only method I know of is hours of picking at it with your nails and maybe a plastic scraper :sick:

but noone ever replied saying whether or not it worked. To be honest I would have thought solvents or petrol could make things worse.

Did your tape say remove immediately after installation on it? Most do but if it didnt you may have a chance of blaming the supplier and getting them remade.

It may be worth trying to pick up a bit of trim or fascia board from somewhere that has been left outside and has the same problem to test on.
I do have a few bits laying around but I'm flat out with work at the moment. If I get a chance in the next few weeks I will get my laborer to cut up a few length and test a few things for future reference.

The main recommendation I can give is to get it off soon as it will only get harder to remove.
