Evening all.

I have recently taken delivery of an elmdene INT400s for my garage. Does it have an engineers hold off to keep it quiet on installation or do I need to get the ear defenders out? Cheers.

I also add the power last of all with these as they can be noisy although I tend to do the INT600, although mysupplier I prefer does the 500S.

you could Hold the tamper switch down that will prevent it going off when working on it. or use a small screw or a wedge to hold it shut temporarily.
been a while since i've used one. another alternative to limit the noise would be to connect everything up except the battery connections and shut the cover and power up the panel. once its powered quickly take the cover off and connect the battery.

it is possible to connect the battery while holding the tamper switch at same time bit awkward but do able.

Yes an ENG input like on other elmdene units for a quiet install or maintenance purposes wouldn't go amiss. But at the end of the day it is an intruder alarm sounder its supposed to make a noise when you mess about with it.

Ive always wondered why texecom haven't released an internal SAB with their engineer hold off feature built in.

sounds good to me.

not sure how much work they would need to do, as its internal wouldn't need the plastic protective cover, so you could make it less deep, swap the piezo and your probably very close to the size of the elmdene unit?
