Garden pond block work size ?

ive got to build a garden pond below ground , customer says pond expert said 100 mm blocks are fine the pond is 7 m long 2.4 wide and 1m deep !! I want to use 225 hollows reinforced , what do you reckon ??

No way id be happy with 4'' blockwork. Definately 9'' at least.

How is it being waterproofed? 7N dense blocks might be better suited than hollows depending on the preferred system
 
7m without piers seems a bit too much, even if it is going to be back filled and filled with water. I would go 7N on the flat too
 
i think a pond expert has said 100mm are fine, its only 1m deep and as long as its backfilled properly its not goin anywhere

Building a sunken pond and relying on it being 'properly backfilled' seems foolhardy to me, what happens if (for some reason or other) the next owner has cause to dig out behind it or has to empty it to fix a leak or whatever, it would then be a retaining wall. Build it right!

my point is a pond expert said use 100mm blocks, the customer wants it like the expert says, whats the problem?
of course im guessing to become an expert he must have built quite a lot of ponds and know what hes talking about.
tell the customer you have reservations, (get them to sign a waiver if you like) then build it how they want.
