Ryobi SDS

Looking at getting one of these as i already have 2 batteries with another twin pack their of drills.
Happy enough with the drills but has anyone tried out the larger SDS version?
Will be used for standard diy type stuff not site work.

When I had a Bosch blue 2kg SDS stolen a few years back I bought a Ryobi 2-function 2kg SDS as a stop gap measure. In the end I kept it 3 years until I eventually got round to buying another Bosch. Overall it could drill almost as well as the Bosch, but the general fit and finish weren't quite as good. The incorporated spirit levels were actually useful (as a "validity test") and I could see them being really useful to a less experienced DIYer. I found that the chuck did wobble a bit more than the Bosches I've had (and Makitas and Metabos I've hired), but the holes it produced, mainly for brown plugs, etc. were acceptable. For A DIYer I feel it would not be a bad choice against some of the cheaper stuff around, especially as spares are actually available, unlike no-name Chinese stuff

I use the previous version one plus SDS, which does not have the chisel function, and it copes with any standard masonry or concrete as good as any other equivalent cordless would. As always, quality bits make all the difference.

I'm not sure the chisel function would be something worth having on a 18v cordless.

Im giving up my old bosch gbh 24 vfr as I don't do site work anymore and use it much, the ni cd batteries are also a bit weak and don't like being stood around. I use the ryobi twin pack I have a fair bit and the lith ions are a better battery, i would like to keep an sds in my collection.

I don't think you'll be disappointed having this in your kit
