Sorry - I was not aware that the scope of BS 7671 was restricted to the materials you have and the work which you do.

What part of "The single colour green shall not beused" is too hard for you to understand?
But as Risteard pointed out, if you sleeve it green/yellow, black, brown, blue or anything else at the ends, have you actually "used" green for identification?

The statement "The single colour green shall not be used" could be considered a little ambiguous without clarification. I suppose given that the table of colors doesn't list green for any function, then it could be assumed that it applies to this scenario, otherwise it should also state that the single colors red, yellow, white etc. shall not be used, or should state that nothing except those listed in the table shall be used. But if it said something like "Conductors with the single colour green shall not be used, even if sleeved at terminations," then it would be quite clear what was meant.

My point was: why would 'we' have any, when not allowed to use it?
That depends what you mean by "we." British electricians whose only work is wiring to the IEE Wiring Regs./BS7671 might not have had any cause to buy spools of plain green for over 35 years, but that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of people who still use it for all sorts of purposes.

people who still use it for all sorts of purposes.
I am using plain green for a lighting installation because it will tend to merge into the green of the trees. ( 12 volt system )
But seriously green/yellow is commonly accepted as a clear indication that the conductore is an earth or protective conductor. That is how it should remain.

You can buy cable that has multiple cores all of which are black except for one that is green / yellow. Comon sense suggests that will be the earth conductor.

"The single colour green shall not be used."

For cabling or sleeving?

There may be instances where an older HVAC installation has a green cpc which is to be repurposed.
