I know there has been a lot of discussion around these in the past from doing a few searches...

However, mine used to be fairly reliable and I turned off the signally a while ago for arming/ disarming etc as it was no longer necessary. Having turned it back on via Wintex (which works perfectly) I can no longer get sms notifications.

I have however changed from EE as TalkTalk as my provider?! Could this be the problem?

I've also read about OpenTap today and wonder if that may assist.

I *think*, but need to check I am using the center numbers: 07785 499993 and 07860 980480.

Does it matter which order these are in? I understand the 02 one is unreliable.

The wintex is giving the error message of comms failure, or something similar so it is trying to send.... but I am not sure why the messages are not coming through.

What 2 numbers should I be using here?

Help appreciated - thank you.

Voda only as O2 gone ! Voda ending in 9993
EE to talktalk for what your mobile or landline ?

Ah, thanks. But shouldn't it work if the Vodafone number is in the second box?

I've put the Vodafone in the first box- will see what happens. Should it be in both though?

My landline is with talktalk. Wondering if there didn't let me use those numbers?!

Try ringing the voda number from the landline , do you get modem tones ? Do you have broadband on the landline ? Do you have a filter on the alarm ?

Will give that a go at the weekend when I'm next there. Still no texts tonight after changing the code though :(

Should I put that Voda number in both the boxes?

Yes or voda and open tap ( 50p) check line at comm2400 for 50v also try doing a digi reset or ajust modem count level on alarm

Sorry, novice here!

How would I check for 50v or do a digi reset?!

Would updating the software on the panel or my wintex help?! Not that I know how to do that either

No .... Multimeter set on DC. Digi reset eng code ---- press 7 ....reset digi press yes menu log off eng press yes

Finally be able to check the number from the landline. I get the modem tones when dialling: 07785 499993. Assume this is correct?

Checked the phone bill and no sign to this number but alarm currently says 'System Alerts'.

Any suggestions as to what it could be or what I should try?!

Not able to check that i'm afraid... no multimeter :(

i've just armed the system and if I lift the handset on the phone, I can hear it dialling so the alarm is trying to dial... what should I be listening for?

i think the alarm is trying to dial at the moment and is now saying ' the number you have dialled has not been recognised...'?!

Strange, because I heard the modem tones before?!

Ok, turn off any answer machines ,ring your landline from a mobile , let it ring 3 times ... Hang up now redial again .... Let it ring does the panel modem answer ?

I dialled in once and it rang once and then cut off.

I'm getting an engaged tone or, hearing the modem dial and then a dead/ engaged tone. If I listen for a while, I hear it dial again and then the dead/ engaged tone again before it dials again.

Think the alarm is still trying to dial out to report the various entry/ exit I called.

Will try again shortly.

Did receive a call earlier on no problems so its not the phone line.
