I'm going to fit a freestanding wood burner with twin wall chimney and need to go through concrete roof. Unfortunately, having bought the twin wall pipe for a straight run without bends I now realise that where the stove has to go - min 340mm from the internal stud wall - there is a roof batten with two tiles hanging on it. I was somehow expecting to hit a tile below the batten that I could cut with an angle grinder.
My question is, is it advisable or possible to cut the tiles at this point? I could probably cut out the batten itself and support the couple of tiles at that point further down the body of the tile, but don't much fancy cutting the tiles on the hanging lip.
Maybe I have to bite the bullet and buy a couple of bends and put a dog leg in. I can't move the stove any further out into the room.
