would somebody give up a £100,000 a year job (for doing fck all) to keep a position which is unpaid?

If i were absolutely minted, with a title that brings many, many benefits and I wanted THE top job in my area of interest, yes I would.

But isn't he already in the House of Lords? They don't need to work, do they? Just turn up, sign the book, go home and wait for your £500 (or whatever) to be sent to your bank account.
