I'm plasterboarding a bedroom ceiling and need a bit of info. The room is about 11ft square and I'm using 6x3 1/2" boards.
There is a joist running down the centre of the room which means I only have to cut a few inches off the boards and 2 boards meet in the middle. The problem is if I do that there will be a continuous join in the boards running the width of the room. The only way out of it is on the second row of boards to put one board in the middle with half boards at each end. I'll have to do this on the second and fourth rows.
This will give me two extra joins and a bit more work but is that the way I should do it? Would a continuous join running through the room cause any real problems? Thanks, Dave.
