I've had to cut out about 20cm2 of ceiling board to repair a leak.
Now the fun part of replacing the board and then trying to get the pattern the same as the rest of the ceiling.

Is there a trick to getting the pattern looking like the one in the photo. I've seen pattern texture brushes you can get, but which will replicate this pattern?

Some more googling reveals its Artex stippling.Looks enough enough to do.

Its an Artex Stipple, a fairly thin mix consistency applied with a stipple brush,

simple enough to repair but to get it looking identical could take several tries, apply the stipple but do not go into the original stipple too deep as you will get a ridge, when dry brush off the knibs of the stipple this will give a rounded effect to the bumps, two coats emulsion over the ceiling should finish it off, cheaper than replacing whole ceiling.
